This is an infomational meeting for all interested participant and their parents. Girls must be a resident of Franklin County and set to graduate in spring 2011. Register to participate in this year's program at www.ajm.org Not only can participants win scholarships from a host of schools across Kentucky, they will also be trained and given skills for the program and for life.

Food Drive
From March 1 to 31, Curves of Frankfort will collect non-perishable items and monetary donations for food banks in local areas. Members who donate a bag of goceries or make a mimimum donation of $30 during the month of March will receive a reusable Curves grocery freezer bag for free! Non-members will be able to join Curves for free.

Easter Egg Roll

Lawn at the Governor's Mansion
Get your wooden spoons ready! Admission is free with a donation of a new or gently used book which the Franklin Younger Woman's Club will distribute to organizations serving children in Franklin County. Children will use wooden spoons to "roll" eggs while racing to the finish line. There also will be games, giveaways and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Fundraiser for Shyann Quickert

There will be a live auction, chili, hot dog, drink and dessert. This to benefit Shyann Quickert. She is a 9 year old girl from Henry County who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumore in 2008. There will be live music from Longshot. The cost is $5.

Logo Contest for Reforest Frankfort
Reforest Frankfort is a volunteer event for planting trees along the Kentucky River to stop erosion and enhance Frankfort's environment. The logo should reflect this theme. The logo contest winner will be recgonized and his/her logo will be displayed on next year's Reforest Frankfort t-shirt. The t-shirts are given away to all who participate in the Reforest Frankfort event. The logo entry should fit on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. Three colors may be used-green, blue and black. Logos can be turned in at the reception desk at Juniper Hills headquarters or mailed to Parks and Recreation poster contest, 800 Louisville Rd, Frankfort. Entries must be received before March 31. The event will take place April 3 at the old boat ramp on Old Lawrenceburg Road. The logos will be voted by the participants in this year's Reforest Frankfort Event.

2nd Annual Run for the Gold

Bluegrass Head Start Community Center
A preschool program for 3-4 year old children are now taking applications for the 2010-2011 school year. Benefits of this program are educational services, parent involvement, health services, transportation, nutrition and disability services. Preschool screening will be held at Bluegrass Head Start Community Center on May 28 and June 4.
