Commonwealth Credit Union is providing an opportunity to donate school supplies and "gently used" children's books for those less fortunate. Backpacks, notebooks, glue, pencils, crayons, binders, inexpensive calculators, and all types of school supplies are welcome! Please drop off the items in the Yellow Bus Stop at any Commonwealth Credit Union Frankfort location by Saturday, July 31.

Enjoy a relaxing experience as you stand on the banks of Glenn's Creek while learning the fine-art of southern fly fishing from two of Kentucky's foremost experts on the sport. You will also have a gourmet brunch, and taken on a guided walking tour to learn the art of handcrafting Woodford Reserve bourbon. Cost is $150 per person. National Night Out

The Frankfort Police Station is hosting National Night Out. This program involves police, service organizations, businesses, neighborhood groups and citizens of Frankfort getting together to showcase free and available resources. Child identification, fingerprint cards, proper child car seat installation procedures will be offered.
$1,000 Reward To Find Missing Dog
A Shiba Inu named Copper was taken to the Frankfort Humane Society on July 3 after she wandered away from her backyard. After a worker at the animal shelter mistook Copper for a coyote, the dog was released into open fields behind the abandoned Home Depot store in Frankfort. PETA is offering up to a $1,000 for information that leads Copper back to her family. Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact Trudi at 502-330-0884
Collins Lane Elementary School
Students who were in the 4th grade at Collins Lane during the 2003-2004 school year, may pick up their writing portfolios from July 26-August 13. Office hours are 8-4pm

Frankfort Community Night At The Reds

Frankfort residents and those of surrounding areas can purchase half-price tickets for select seating locations. The choir from the Frankfort Christian Academy will perform the National Anthem before the game and has secured a number of field level tickets that can be purchased in person at the Frankfort Christian Academy or by calling 502-695-0744. Tickets can also be purchased by visiting www.reds.com/frankfort Discount tickets must be purchased by Friday, August 13th to receive the Frankfort discount. The first 20,000 fans in attendance will receive a Reds Garden Gnome. Gates will open at 5:40pm.
Walk N Roll for a Cure for SMA

The KY chapter of Families of SMA will host a 5k and 1 mile walk n roll. SMA is a group of inherited and often fatal diseases which destroy the nerves that command the voluntary muscle movement. Reality Check
The Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce Workforce Development Council and high school educators will hold The Reality Store for sophomores that attend Frankfort High, Western Hills and Franklin County. The Reality Store is a simulated life-experience program where students practice making informed decisions about the cost and time of major life events like marriage, and having children as well as examine their attitude about their future careers, earnings and lifestyles. This is going on September 14 at the Frankfort Convention Center.
Kentucky Employees Credit Union is hosting a T-shirt design contest. The winning design will be placed on the 2010 Reality Store t-shirts and the winner will receive a $50 gift card, the school of the winning student will receive a $50 donation to their art department. T-shirt designs can be dropped off at KECU or to the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce office by August 15.
