Max Joseph, co-host of the hit MTV show “Catfish,” has announced he’s leaving the show after seven years.

“Working on this show for the last seven years has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life,” he offers via Twitter. He goes on to say that the stress of balancing his TV host career and film-making career has been very stressful. Since the show is still successful as ever, Joseph says it’s time for him to move on with his career as a filmmaker.

Nev Schulman, his partner in crime (and co-host) on the show, has taken to Twitter to share a touching statement in support for Joseph. “Good luck Max, love you brother,” he says.
