Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper Talk “A Star Is Born”

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper are on the cover of “Entertainment Weekly’s” Fall movie preview edition, where they discuss their upcoming flick “A Star Is Born.”

Cooper, who makes his directorial debut, tells the mag he had numerous people try and talk him out of making a fourth version of the classic film but he couldn’t be dissuaded. “I just knew this could be the end of everything if it doesn’t work.” he shares. “But I still could not deny what I felt deep down, and that’s why it was this movie. It sort of ignited something in me.”

As for getting to be in the film, Gaga notes, “It just has changed me,” adding, “Watching Bradley work was phenomenal and then having him believe in me — it gave me more ammunition to believe in myself and I just feel so blessed to have had that experience.”

And it sounds like working with Cooper could influence the way she makes music in the future. “I think what I learned from Bradley [is] it’s okay to be relentlessly sure of your vision, and to go after it with every fiber of your being, and to never stop white gloving what you’re making,” she says. “Sometimes, as an artist, I second-guess myself when I go, ‘Am I pulling the thread? Am I unraveling the whole blanket now? Do I need to stop?’ It’s changed the way that I work today.”

“A Star Is Born” opens October 5th.
